    LIVE Application Advice from our Director: What We Look for in Great Applications

    We are very pleased to release our schedule of Application Advice sessions for the coming year! Outstanding applicants to Duke Kunshan University demonstrate several key qualities that we look for, and reflect a deep understanding of our unique culture and learning community. In this session, Director of International Student Enrollment, Russell Davis, will share his perspective on what those qualities are, and provide guidance on how to put together your strongest Duke Kunshan application. Topics covered include:

    • How to write your Duke Kunshan University-specific essay
    • When should you use the supplemental essay, and why
    • What are those qualities most valued by the Admissions Committee and why
    • How do you weave the qualitative elements of the Common Application together to tell your most compelling story
    • Review Duke Kunshan’s Financial Aid policy and process, covering both merit-based scholarships and need-based aid

    The session will be interactive, so bring your questions!

    These sessions are scheduled in 2024 on October 20th at 12pm ET, November 16th at 12pm ET, December 21st at 10am ET, and December 28th at 12pm ET.

    LIVE Virtual Campus Visits

    Like a campus tour, but conducted online! With one of our engaging student ambassadors serving as your tour guide, this 45-minute live presentation will help you get a feel for the campus and student life at DKU as an international student. You will be encouraged to ask questions and interact with other attendees. Your tour guide will share their perspectives and experiences using visual aids and anecdotes, giving you the opportunity to:

    • See and hear about our amazing facilities on campus
    • Learn about life as a student at DKU
    • Learn about what our students do outside of campus, including their travels around China and beyond

    LIVE Virtual Information Sessions


    Would you like to learn details about the undergraduate program's unique curriculum? Wondering about admissions requirements and financial aid? Hosted by a DKU admissions officer, these live info sessions will help you gain in-depth insight into: 

    • Our unique academic model
    • The connection to Duke University
    • Our interdisciplinary majors
    • Costs and financial aid
    • How to apply

    Student Experience Panel (Recorded)



    We invite you to view the recording of a virtual panel of Duke Kunshan University students from around the world. In this recorded session, you will hear what it's like to be a student at DKU, including:

    • Hear from those who are living it, what it is really like to live and study in China
    • Learn about the various clubs and organizations our highly engaged students are involved in
    • Discover the abundant research, and other cool experiential on- and off-campus opportunities, available to students
    • Get your questions answered by DKU students with diverse interests and backgrounds
    • Ultimately, come away with a better understanding of DKU’s unique student culture and global community!

    You may be working on your application to DKU right now. If so, this panel is highly recommended. What you learn from this panel can definitely help you with your 'Why DKU' essay, the many distinctive DKU features you can weave into your essay to help you demonstrate why DKU is the ideal university for you.     We invite you to hear from alumni as they share their insights into how DKU prepared them for their post-graduate journeys in this recorded special panel. During the discussion, you will:
