    Visit Us in Kunshan, China or Durham, USA

    We welcome students and families to visit Duke Kunshan University’s beautiful campus in China—just a 20-minute high-speed train from Shanghai—to explore our facilities, meet our community, and learn more about academics and student life. Campus visits are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) and require pre-registration at least three days in advance.

    If you plan to be in Durham, NC, you can also meet with a member of the DKU admission staff for a one-on-one conversation to learn more about DKU. Pending availability, a current student may be able to join the meeting.

    Virtual Events Description

    Student Experience Panel

    hear from current students as they share their experiences around what it is like to be a student at DKU. At this LIVE and interactive panel, you will:

    • Gain first-hand insight into what it is like to live and study in China
    • Find out what students do for fun on and off campus
    • Hear about the many clubs, athletics and organizations students can get involved in
    • Learn about research and other cool experiential opportunities only available at DKU
    • And hear why they ultimately chose to attend DKU!

    If you are currently working on your application to DKU with hopes of joining the Class of 2030, this panel is highly recommended. You will not only learn more about our unique student community and culture, but it will most certainly help with your 'Why DKU' essay when you learn about all the great ways you can contribute at DKU!

    Application Advice Sessions with the Director of International Enrollment Management

    Successful applicants to Duke Kunshan University demonstrate several essential qualities throughout their application, while reflecting a deep understanding of our unique culture and learning community. In this session, Director of International Student Enrollment, Russell Davis, will share his perspective on what those qualities are, why they are important, and provide guidance on how to weave them throughout your application. He will also provide tips for writing the required ‘Why DKU’ essay, how to reflect your DKU knowledge in it, and advise on when to use the optional supplemental essay to bring additional value to your application. The session will be interactive, so bring your questions! Additionally, Russell will review DKU’s Financial Aid policy and process and help potential applicants understand the difference between applying in Early Decision (Nov 3, 2025 deadline) vs. Regular Decision (Jan 5, 2026).  


    Virtual Campus Visits

    Like a campus tour, but conducted online! With one of our engaging student ambassadors serving as your tour guide, this 45-minute live presentation will help you get a feel for the campus and student life at DKU as an international student. You will be encouraged to ask questions and interact with other attendees. Your tour guide will share their perspectives and experiences using visual aids and anecdotes, giving you the opportunity to:


     
    • See and hear about our amazing facilities on campus
    • Learn about life as a student at DKU
    • Learn about what our students do outside of campus, including their travels around China and beyond
